It's an age-old favourite, with a recipe handed down from generation to generation. MTR Foods Rasam Powder is finely blended so you can enjoy the spicy flavours of this classic south-indian soup.

Directions to use MTR Rasam Powder :

• Cook 60 gm ( 4 tbsp ) of toor daal in 800 ml of water with 1/2 tsp cooking oil and a pinch of turmeric.
• Churn the cooked dal and keep aside.
• Boil tamarind extract with jiggery. Add 1 tbsp ( 15g ) MTR RASAM POWDER and salt to taste.
• Add chopped tomatoes ( 60g ) for better flavour
• Add the churned, cooked dal and water to the desired consistency.
• Cook for about 10 minutes.
• Prepare the seasoning of 1/2 tsp mustard and asafoetida in ghee. Add to rasam.

Tasty Tip:

• Garnish it with finely cut coriander leaves and enjoy as a soup or you can also serve with rice.
